Yeah I think that speaks a lot about the quality of recruiting and the talent among the younger guys. Obviously a lot will change between now and September regarding the depth chart but a few things do stick out to me:

1. King jumping Horton stands out. I don't think this is a knock on Horton as I still see him getting a lot of short yardage and goal line touches but I think the coaches have really found another gem in King.

2. Was surprised to see Tavin Richardson jumping Blake Bone. Hopefully Bone gets it together as he showed some solid play as a true freshman but disappeared most of last season. He may end up getting buried if he doesnt show up soon.

3. Not seeing GAA starting at either guard spot speaks volumes about both Meyers and Haynes. We have some GREAT depth on the interior of the line.

4. I dont like seeing Pringle at 4th at nose tackle. Hopefully he just needs time to adjust and move up.

5. Finally I am a little surprised to see Kash at 3rd at MLB. Firios has been really hurt by injuries but since hes finally healthy he must be really coming along.

Firios being ahead of Kash is awesome to me. Eliot and Stoops have raved about Firios physical tools he just had a hard time learning the defense. Having 3 guys at Mike in the 245 pound range is big I expect that position to show more physicality going forward. George just now moved to guard he will play a bunch. I liked seeing Dubose 2nd string he is a guy that could be an xfactor

Kash and Firios are some thumpers. They'll dish out a few headaches this year.

Dorian Baker as #1...bothers me...cant reward laziness like that

To me he's like a TO type. You just have to know how to motivate him. Give him 3-4 catches per game and he will be happy. If you throw to him once per game he won't be happy.

We got plenty of receivers..attitude problems and lack of focus cant be tolerated at that position

DB just chooses when to show up instead of just doing it.

Without him we wouldn't of beat EKU.

He came up clutch in the last few minutes with that game winning TD. NOW If he just plays like that all the time. He could end up being a 2-3rd rounder in the draft.

Not even close on evaluation, Kash is way ahead. This seems like a motivational tool for him

Blake McClain starting two positions at the same time (Nickel and Free Safety) seems....redundant.

Do we play two Strong Safeties when in the Nickel defense?

^Does Stoops use a free and strong safety? Most teams in college and NFL are moving away from more traditional strong/free back. Instead they favor putting a couple "free" coverage guys back there since teams are throwing more. I think Stoops is sort of in this mood as well.

A lot of what has been mentioned here and still starting a walk on at left tackle over what was a big catch in Leavitt. Really hoping he catches on

Mosier is no ordinary WO. He was hurt his HS SR year & didn't get the chance to show his stuff. UK got a big break there. Leavitt not beating him out is more a show of Mosier's abilities than a Leavitt negative. We should be happy to have this issue. And we need more of these issues to be an SEC force. Stop the whining.

I love the Cole Mosier story...but he was way outmatched at OT last year...simply had no foot speed to deal with edge rushers. He was solidly behind poor OT in Swindle and is best suited at OG v.s. OT to me. To see Leavitt come in and be that much further behind Mosier was a massive dissapointment.

This.. He's good enough for 2 positions at once? I like our chances if he can run both positions

This was the way I was thinking. Maybe Mosier is better than projected, but it's not like he was part of a functional line. Leavitt was seen as a solution and so far doesn't come across as one. It's waaaaay early to freak out, but seeing Leavitt not leading a spot sticks out to me, especially in spots we were so bad in last year

Laster being 2nd string behind Ware. I think he starts on the other side ahead of Allen. Bring Allen in on passing downs as a true pass rusher.

The name swindle makes me cringe every time I hear it. Usually during a hold or false start. He seemed to have about 10 drive killing penalties a game. Never seen a lineman like him. Had a ton of experience, but for some reason just never stopped sucking it up.

A motivational tool for a true frosh who works his *** off? I did not make any evaluation stoops and Eliot have raved about Firios tools. So I'm not sure I follow your debate

Yea, Firios just needs to stay healthy through falk camouflage because we really haven't seen him from the injuries

What stood out to me the most was the large amount of youth that we still have and a real opportunity to red shirt a lot of young guys. I think that we have great potential to do well this year but 2017 is looking excellent.

Yeah, I'm still a bit pessimistic but next year is where my outlook really starts to change. I hope this team turns me into a believer earlier than planned. I don't think this group is a bad team, but an injury or two in key areas is trouble and there isn't much senior leadership on the team. Making a bowl with so few leaving would really turn some heads Among those who know the sport

The O-line,but to be fair this depth chart probably doesn't look like the one that will take the field in game one. Everything else looks about as expected,King is a bit of a surprise but he was seeing the field regularly late last year,I thought Middleton might make a run at starting(if he hit the weights)

Swindle should have been a guard all along. Great young man that played out of position his entire UK career.
A chance to red-shirt Kash depends on a stay healthy Firios.
Cole Mosier is another ought to be playing on inside. Leavitt needs positive progress through fall camp. Like potential of Wolfe and really like Young. If this pair come through I think may see Mosier back at guard.
I was impressed by play of Stalling in Spring Game!
Gut feeling this will be best o. line since Coach Stoops took over.
Conrad and Hart I think will strengthen CATS running game!

Agree on King but I have really liked what I have seen from him

Still not sold on King yet. Seems like he goes down pretty quickly on first contact. Did absolutely nothing last year that I remember (maybe faulty memory, of course). Don't recall much impact in the kicking game, either. Seems like he has the tools, as does Horton, but really hasn't put it together very much, IIRC.

I'm thinking---hoping Leavitt just needs a bit more time to make the adjustment to Div I college ball.

Faulty memory could be right. I think he only got significant carries in one game, and I was very impressed with him that game.

Mosier is going to start the dude is huge and a better athlete than given credit for. Mosier held up pretty darn well playing tackle the first time last year against top 50 draft picks. To be honest we really do not know how much the offense made the oline look bad with so many vertical routes and 3rd and 8s

King didnt play that much last year (though his snaps went up a bit late in the year but still didnt play a lot) so I think its unfair to judge him from last year. He was also only a freshman.
