Bryce Young has made his first season as the Alabama Crimson Tide starting quarterback look easy.

Young is coming off another tremendous performance where he carved up the Arkansas defense for 559 yards, breaking the school’s single-game passing record that had stood for more than half a century.

With just two games remaining on the regular season schedule, the Alabama signal caller was asked about his biggest learning lessons in his first year as starting quarterback.

“I think just trying to navigate what is most important as far as being successful as an offense and as a team,” Bryce Young responded.

“I think one of the biggest things has just been communication from myself, from the entire team, and just making sure we are on the same page. I’ve understood how important it is for me and the offensive line to know what’s going on, for the running backs to understand what the line is doing and what I am doing. For the receivers to understand what I am expecting them to do, for me to understand what they want.”

Bryce Young says the Alabama offense isn’t a finished product and that mastering communication between the various position groups is something he and the rest of the team are constantly fine-tuning.

“So all of that, I’ve really learned the importance of communication and us all being on the same page,” Young added. “That’s stuff that we work on day in and day out, and that’s stuff we are still trying to improve on. But that’s definitely been one of the big learning lessons I’ve experienced throughout the year.”

Is Bryce Young the Heisman Trophy frontrunner?

The Alabama quarterback has gotten better and better as the season has progressed. Young has thrown for 3,584 yards, 38 touchdowns and just three interceptions, further thrusting his name to the top of most sportsbooks and talking heads as the favorite to bring home the Heisman Trophy.

Matt Leinart was the 2004 winner as the quarterback of the USC Trojans, who is now a FOX college football analyst chimed in on his thoughts about who he believes will claim the ultimate prize this season after Saturday’s slate of games wrapped up.

“The Heisman Trophy is between CJ Stroud and Bryce Young,” the former USC star said on Saturday. “Both Southern Cal boys. A couple HUGE opportunities for the young men over next few weeks.”

Earlier this week, the official updated Heisman Trophy odds were released and while Leinart’s prediction was spot on, Alabama fans may not be thrilled to see CJ Stroud slated over Bryce Young as of now.
