Alabama survived its first test of the season with a road win over Texas, and now faces a second Top 25 trip to face Arkansas on Saturday. In the opening weeks of the season, defending Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young has delivered in the big moments to keep the Crimson Tide undefeated with a chance to pick up a marquee win.

During a recent press conference, Bryce Young identified the opportunity Alabama has in front of it with a stout Arkansas defense on the opposite side.

“They’re a really good group,” said Young. “Really good unit, very well disciplined. They have a lot of talent, top to bottom it’s a really talented roster. You can tell how well they communicate, do some different things, but you can always tell they’re on the same page. Very well coached. And really from top to bottom it’s a really good unit.

“They’ve done a great job throughout the year and I think they were a really good unit last year. You can see how they’ve even gotten better and improved this year throughout the games they’ve played. We know it’s going to be a really big challenge for us, we know it’s going to take everything, so for us it’s just about trying to have the best week of preparation we can to try to put ourselves in the best circumstance.”

Will Anderson makes bold statement on Alabama opponents

Will Anderson Jr has a mean streak about him when he steps on the field. He was already one of the nation’s fiercest and most productive players on defense. Now, after his quote during media on Tuesday, Anderson took it to a whole new level.

Someone asked Anderson whether or not he considered himself to be ‘hateful’ when on the field. He said he completely does along with some other comments that should send a shiver down any offensive player’s spine.

“Yeah, I do (consider myself hateful on the field). I tell people all the time. The audacity for the other team to even step on the field is disrespectful to me. I tell people that all the time,” said Anderson. “People ask me what motivates me and I say, ‘The audacity for the fans to show up and for the team to come step on the field to play with us.’ That’s kind of like my own little thing in my head that I go through.”

Anderson just gave a whole new definition to the word mean streak with those lines. Although it’s been a slower start for the Crimson Tide’s star defender, he has started to pick it up in their wins against UL-Monroe and Vanderbilt. With these comments and improved play as of late, Arkansas should be extra mindful of Anderson this weekend when Alabama gets to Fayetteville.
