Just minutes away from kickoff in Pasadena, emotions are running high. Alabama and Michigan will be playing for a spot in the College Football Playoff national championship game at the sport’s most iconic venue — the Rose Bowl. The Crimson Tide are certainly excited, just ask backup quarterback Ty Simpson.

Alabama was running out onto the field for pregame warmups, with the entire team huddled around the corner of the end zone. Tyler Booker maybe got too hyped, pushing Simpson over the pylon and causing him to stumble a bit. No bad blood between the two, it’s just difficult to stand upright when being pushed by Booker.

Simpson was able to bounce back quickly, giving Will Reichard some encouragement. Just a funny moment between two teammates they can laugh about when checking social media following the game.

You can check out the full moment, caught by Richard Johnson, here.

While there might have been some friendly fire right now, Booker will soon be looking to push around Michigan players. Heading into the matchup, the Alabama offensive line is thought to be a key position group. If they are able to protect up front, head coach Nick Saban will have to feel like they have a great opportunity to win.

Tyler Booker explains how Alabama offense has evolved this season

There was not an exact moment when Alabama was able to flip a switch on offense. There is no doubt that the early season struggles, not looking good against Texas and USF. But after Jalen Milroe got back in the mix, the Crimson Tide slowly worked toward becoming one of the most dangerous units in college football.

Booker gave his opinion on how the Alabama offense has evolved this season, saying they have just been able to execute down the stretch. He also believes defenses are now “on their toes” when playing Alabama, with a lot of credit going to Milroe for the difference.

“We’ve grown so much, done a lot better executing,” Booker said. “What I mean by that is trusting Coach Rees’ play calls. I’m not saying we didn’t trust them earlier on, but really fully buying in. Once we did that, we run the ball, pass the ball, run the ball. It became more balanced. Really keeps the defense on their toes. Then we have a quarterback like Jalen that is a third threat. Hard to account for everybody.”
