Huntington Beach (Calif.) four-star offensive tackle Justin Tauanuu received an offer from Arizona State on Tuesday. He announced the news over social media.

Tauanuu is the No. 308 overall prospect and No. 14 offensive tackle in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 28 player in California.

On3 rates Tauanuu higher than other recruiting services, per the Industry Comparison. According to the 2024 On300, he is the No. 205 overall prospect, No. 17 offensive tackle and No. 20 player in California.

The 6-foot-6, 270-pound recruit has received offers from multiple Pac-12 schools. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, California holds a very close lead for his pledge at 25.8%.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

The Sun Devils currently have no commitments in their 2024 recruiting class. Meanwhile, Arizona State’s 2023 class, which contains 17 commitments, is No. 59 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 10 in the Pac-12.

Tauanuu has an On3 NIL Valuation of $8K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
