Arizona State will start true freshman quarterback Jaden Rashada for the season week in a row as the Sun Devils host Oklahoma State this weekend, according to a report from ESPN’s Pete Thamel.

Rashada started Week 1 for Arizona State, leading the team to a 24-21 victory over Southern Utah.

Thamel also reported Notre Dame transfer Drew Pyne is likely to return to action in either Week 3 or Week 4.

On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power included Rashada among his true freshman standouts from the first official week of the season.

“The Pittsburg, California native completed 18 of 31 passes for 236 yards and 2 touchdowns in his college debut, helping Arizona State to a 24-21 win.” Power wrote. “The true freshman got off to a quick start, completing 12 of 16 passes for 182 yards and 2 touchdowns in the first half, as a dust storm rolled into Tempe. Rashada’s most impressive play came on his first drive. He rolled out to the right and unleashed a beautiful deep ball back across the field for a long gain, flashing the big-time arm that made him a blue-chip prospect.”
