J.D.'s Rankings Week 12

The hits keep on coming for Sam Pittman and the Arkansas Razorbacks during their 2023 campaign.

According to the program’s leader, the team’s running back room suffered a myriad of injuries against FIU last weekend. Rocket Sanders tore his labrum, Rashod Dubinion tore his meniscus, Pittman revealed on Monday.

While the Razorbacks improved to 4-7 over the weekend, the loss of two key offensive weapons is a big one. That’s something that’ll hurt Arkansas as they look to finish their season strong in Week 13.

It won’t be easy, as the Missouri Tigers are playing better than ever at the moment. Nevertheless, anything can happen on Saturday, and Sam Pittman and company will be looking for a victory come time.

Arkansas vs. Missouri odds: Early point spread released on Battle Line Rivalry

It’s rivalry week in college football, meaning Missouri and Arkansas will face off in the annual Battle Line Rivalry to close the regular season. Both teams couldn’t be more opposite in terms of how this season has played out, with the Tigers entering ranks in the top 10 against a Razorbacks team that has managed just one SEC win.

That being the case, it should come as no surprise that Missouri enters as 7-point favorites on the road in Fayetteville according to FanDuel. The over/under is set at 55.5 points.

The Tigers have a chance to reach 10 wins for the first time since 2014 after earning a 33-31 win against Florida this past Saturday.

Missouri has been one of the bigger surprises this season as the Tigers appear to have turned a corner in the fourth year of Eli Drinkwitz. Regardless of the result of this contest, they’re set to finish as the second-place team in the SEC East behind only undefeated Georgia, which they lost to 30-21 earlier this year.

Coming off of a dominant 36-7 win against Tennessee in Week 11, Mizzou needed some late-game heroics to beat the Gators on Saturday. They got it in the form of Brady Cook, who showed poise on the final drive to set up the game-winning 30-yard field goal. Cook finished with 331 yards passing and two total touchdowns, including a 77-yard throw to Theo Wease

Arkansas finds itself already eliminated from bowl contention and having won just one SEC game this season. The Razorbacks got a bit of a reprieve this past week as they went out of conference to face Florida International and win 44-20.

Quarterback KJ Jefferson threw for three touchdowns in the win as Arkansas scored 24 points in the second quarter to pull away before halftime. Things will be much tougher this week, however, and the Razorbacks will need a miracle to pull off an upset.

Missouri and Arkansas first met in 1906 in a game the Tigers won 11-0. The two teams didn’t begin to meet regularly until Missouri joined the SEC in 2012, having played every season since 2014. The Tigers hold a 10-4 all-time record against the Razorbacks.

Since Missouri joined the SEC, it has a 7-2 record against Arkansas. The Tigers have won six of the past seven contests, including a 29-27 victory last season in Columbia.
