On Monday, Arkansas Razorbacks head coach Sam Pittman announced his penalties for safeties Myles Slusher and Anthony Brown after their arrests for disorderly conduct in the early hours of Sunday.

“We’ve suspended them for at least one week,” Pittman said during his press conference. “They’ve got a.m. runs, they will both participate in practice on the scout team. It’s unfortunate, it’s not acceptable, part of our job is to teach these kids.”

Slusher, a third-year defensive back out of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Brown, a 2022 signee from Milan, Tennessee, had an altercation with Fayetteville Police near Dickson Street. The incident occurred around 2 a.m., after the Razorbacks lost a close game to Liberty at home, moving their record to 5-4 on the year.

Both players will miss at least the Week 11 home game versus the LSU Tigers but it is more consequential in Slusher’s case. The game versus Liberty was the first one back for Slusher after he missed several weeks with a calf injury. In the 21-19 loss, he recorded five tackles, including a sack. Brown hasn’t recorded any stats for the Razorbacks through Week 10 this season.

LSU is hot and coming off of their biggest win of the season versus Alabama. If the Hogs opt to keep the defensive backs off the field for longer than a week, they could potentially miss the Ole Miss game on Nov. 19 as well.

Slusher, Brown booked for disorderly conduct

According to the preliminary reports, Anthony Brown was among a group of people standing in the street around 2 a.m. off of Dickson St. An officer told the 2022 safety signee to get off of the street, an order with which he complied. However, according to the report, the officer noted Brown “intentionally standing in the roadway a second time.”

The officer stated he grabbed the sleeve on the freshman’s right arm and walked him to the sidewalk, where the Razorback player allegedly pushed him away.

“Brown was taken to the ground and taken into custody,” according to the report. “Brown engaged in fighting behavior, congregated with two or more other people in a public place refusing to comply with a lawful order to disperse, and obstructed vehicular traffic in a public place.”
