Auburn is set to welcome some of its top targets to The Plains this weekend for another big couple days of recruiting.

That list of elite prospects includes the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2026 cycle, Reserve (La.) St. Augustine five-star defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart. He announced on Saturday morning that he’ll be in attendance for A-Day.

Stewart is fresh off a Miami visit and is now set to get a look at Hugh Freeze’s program. The Tigers will look to get properly involved in the race for the 6-foot-5.5, 270-pounder this weekend. The in-state LSU Tigers are currently trending for his pledge, however.

“LSU is the in-state school and they are going to do all they can to keep Jahkeem Stewart at home,” On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons wrote last month. “Bo Davis is already working the five-star defensive lineman, and he is expected to be in Baton Rouge a few times in the coming months. Stewart is feeling the love from the home-state school. Alabama, Georgia, Oregon, USC and some others will be factors in this race, but this race starts at home in The Boot.”

“I’m really happy and I’m really amazed after going to the campus and feeling out the culture,” Stewart told On3 of his recent Miami visit. “They impressed me a lot when I was around them that one day, so I really love what they’ve got going on and what they’re building.”

Stewart also has upcoming visits to Ohio State, Oregon and USC.

Why Stewart is On3’s No. 1 recruit in 2026

Stewart debuted as On3’s No. 1 prospect in the 2026 On300 last month. On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power wrote this of the elite athlete:

“It doesn’t take long to understand why Jahkeem Stewart is a top prospect upon seeing him in person or on film. At 6-foot-5.5, 260 pounds, Stewart is a true ‘first off the bus’ type. In addition to the considerable stature and girth, Stewart touts plus length and a big frame, with 34+ inch arms and 10.75-inch hands.

He’s an explosive straight-line athlete at that size, having laid down impressive marks in the 40 yard dash and the jumps early on. It’s not out the realm of possibility to envision a 6-foot-6, 290-pounder who runs in the 4.8’s in a few years.

Stewart pairs the size and athleticism with tangible, explosive power. He should easily eclipse the 50+ foot threshold in the shot put – in indicator of functional strength for linemen – likely sooner than later. Stewart has already posted a 47-9.5-foot toss early on in his first track season.”
