Add Auburn head coach Bryan Harsin to the list of people who could do with fewer commercials in football games. The Tigers game against Missouri on Saturday was yet another contest chock full of breaks for advertisements.

After the game, Harsin griped about the constant pauses in the ESPN broadcast of the game, which mean long periods of no action for the folks in the stands. It also contributes to games taking so long to finish.

“It seems like we had a football game in the middle of commercials,” Harsin said according to Nathan King of 247Sports.

Auburn won against Missouri, 17-14, in overtime, which also contributes to the longer game and extra commercials that Harsin didn’t enjoy. The game took 3:28 to complete.

Auburn OL coach Will Friend makes definitive statement on OT win vs Missouri

Auburn snuck out of Jordan-Hare Stadium with a 17-14 win against Missouri on Saturday, moving to 3-1 and snagging a conference win. But the performance left much to be desired.

The Tigers were without starting quarterback TJ Finley — though the offense hadn’t been electric with him — and struggled on Saturday gaining just 217 total yards and scoring 17 points in four-plus quarters. But a win is a win and for an embattled Auburn coaching regime, it’s miles better than the alternative. Offensive line coach Will Friend reinforced the point after the game speaking with Andy Burcham.

“If you don’t think that’s a big win, mess around and not win and see…” Friend said according to Auburn Live’s Justin Hokanson.

It’s no secret that Auburn head coach Bryan Harsin is not long for the Plains and he’ll likely not be the coach come 2023 — but piling up SEC losses early in the season only helps the case for anybody hoping to trapdoor head man.

Friend knows this and didn’t run from it.
