Auburn football coach Bryan Harsin is continuing to have fun in the midst of the recent back-and-forth between Kentucky football coach Mark Stoops and basketball coach John Calipari.

After Stoops responded to Calipari calling UK a “basketball school,” Harsin tweeted a photo of himself and Tigers basketball coach Bruce Pearl on Thursday. The caption on the photo read “Auburn family! #EverythingSchool,” seemingly a dig at the two Wildcats coaches.

But when asked to elaborate on his tweet Sunday, Harsin playfully dismissed the notion.

“We’re talking about social media now?” the coach said with a wry smile.

Reporters followed up with a question about the timing of the tweet, prompting another brief response from the Tigers head man.

“Yeah, I guess,” he said. “Timing is everything, right?”

Calipari made his comments while making the pitch for a new Kentucky basketball practice facility. Stoops instantly weighed in, retweeting Calipari’s comments about being a “basketball school” and reminding him about the football program’s recent postseason success.

“Basketball school?” Stoops tweeted. “I thought we competed in the SEC? #4straightpostseasonwins”

But the two Kentucky coaches weren’t the only victim of Bryan Harsin’s jokes. At training camp last week, the coach again showed his trolling skills when he gave members of the media commemorative t-shirts. Last year, discussion started when Harsin tossed hats out to reporters after practice as a thank you for covering the team, so he had the perfect response this time around, handing out shirts that said, “I went to Auburn football practice and all I got was this war damn t-shirt.”

Harsin is getting ready to enter his second season at Auburn after leading them to a 6-7 finish in his first year. Stoops, on the other hand, has coached 10 seasons in Lexington and led the Wildcats to just their fourth 10-win season in school history this past year.
