Transfer Portal News Of The Day December 27, 2023 - Walter Nolen To Ole Miss, Tate Rodemaker Enters Portal

Auburn cornerback Tony Hunley Jr. has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. He started his college career at Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Hunley didn’t see any game action after transferring to Auburn in 2022.

Auburn has now lost 12 players to the portal so far this cycle, but the Tigers have two coming to The Plains. Former Kansas defensive lineman Gage Keys committed to Auburn Dec. 17, and his decision came a week after Georgia State transfer Robert Lewis chose the Tigers.

Auburn is preparing for the Music City Bowl against Maryland as Hugh Freeze looks to end his first season at the helm on a high note. The Tigers went 6-6 during the regular season, including a heartbreaking loss to Alabama in the Iron Bowl in the final seconds.

In addition to the transfer additions, Auburn also landed a highly touted recruiting class on National Signing Day, checking in at No. 8 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Ranking. The group is headlined by Five Star Plus+ wide receiver Cam Coleman — the No. 4 overall player from the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
