4-star LB Qua Birdsong decommits from Cincinnati
Lagrange (Ga.) Troup County four-star linebacker Qua Birdsong has decommitted from Cincinnati, he announced on Thursday afternoon.
He had been previously committed to Bearcats since April, when he chose them over offers finalists Miami, Michigan, UCF, and Arkansas.
Birdsong is the No. 334 overall prospect and No. 34 linebacker in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 38 player in Georgia.
“First, I’d like to thank The University of Cincinnati for recruiting me during my recruiting process,” he wrote on Twitter. “After long thought and consideration I have decided to decommit and reopen my recruitment. I have nothing but love and respect for The Cincinnati coaching staff.”

After committing in April to the Bearcats, Birdsong has only taken one official visit this summer, and it was to Cincinnati. However, he will officially visit NC State this weekend, as the Wolf Pack has become a contender.
Birdsong has an On3 NIL Valuation of $97K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
