Cincinnati has been high on Marietta (Ga.) Kell safety Marqavious Saboor since the beginning. The Bearcats got in early and stayed consistent and on Tuesday, they landed the commitment of the three-star safety.

Saboor was convinced by Cincinnati’s early belief in him as well as the Bearcats’ consistency.

“Cincinnati kind of started in my recruiting process early,” Saboor told On3. “I believe they were my third offer. I kind of just fell into their family like instantly. They brought me in as one of their own. They showed love from day one.”

Saboor was in Cincinnati for an official visit over the weekend. Saboor made his mind up on the trip. The city felt like home.

Saboor was immediately reminded of his current home in Atlanta.

“I see it just like Atlanta,” Saboor said. “It feels very homey. All of the stuff that I do down here, I can also do up there. It just feels like home again.”

Saboor also found a strong system of coaches at Cincinnati. He immediately connected with defensive coordinator Bryan Brown, director of recruiting strategy Cass Simmons and the director of player personnel Jack Griffith.

That trio made Saboor feel like he was already a member of the Cincinnati football family.

“They treated me like one of their own,” Saboor said. “They made sure I’m on top of my stuff school-wise and made sure I’m good just in life. On the field they were monitoring my football and if I’m good. I’m family off the rip.”

Marqavious Saboor can see Cincinnati as a place to develop

Saboor still has Cincinnati’s run to the College Football Playoffs fresh on his mind. The Bearcats sent double-digit players to the NFL over the last few years.

Though it was a different staff Saboor couldn’t ignore the precedent of players going into Cincinnati and developing into major contributors and grabbing the attention of the NFL.

“They were talking about how they had a couple of guys that came in looking small and once they bought in, they got bigger, stronger, faster and smarter and played well on the football field,” Saboor said. “Those guys also got sent to the NFL. This is my way of getting to my goal: the NFL.”

Saboor is the 11th player committed to the Bearcats in the class of 2024. He’s the sixth player from the state of Georgia to pledge to Cincinnati in this cycle.
