Earlier this month, Blake Hebert traveled to South Carolina to camp at Clemson. The four-star quarterback in the 2025 class out of Lawrence (Mass.) Central Catholic left Clemson on June 1 with an offer.

The No. 187 prospect in the On3 Consensus continued to evaluate schools on his list. Notre Dame had him on campus last week, but after returning home from South Bend, Hebert felt it was time to make his decision.

“I don’t know how to put it into words,” Hebert told On3. “Something just felt right. I had that feeling in my stomach. The way I felt when down at Clemson had that home feeling. I clicked with the coaching staff, my family loved the area and it all just felt right.

“It didn’t really come down to any specific schools. “I considered all of the offers I had, and I didn’t really have a top three or a top five. I just felt differently about Clemson.

Hebert is Clemson’s second commitment for the 2025 cycle. Four-star running back Gideon Davidson committed to the Tigers earlier this week.

“I just felt now was the right time. It was a different feeling for me with Clemson. I never had a set date or time in my head, so why wait? When you know, you know. And I know it is Clemson.”

Hebert is high on the coaching staff at Clemson

The leader of the Clemson program played a big role in this decision. The family vibe. And the culture. Hebert wanted to be a part of it.

“Coach Dabo Swinney is a guy a lot of people can put their trust and faith in and I am one of those people. He is a really an unbelievable person. He proves that every season. Coach Swinney doesn’t just say it, but he does it. He backs it up with his actions and I have all of my trust in him.”

Feelings are similar for Clemson’s new offensive coordinator. Garrett Riley is closing in on his first season under Swinney and Hebert is excited to work with him in the future.

“Me and Coach Riley clicked really well. He was a factor in this decision. We get along well and I like how he runs his offense. He helped TCU get to the national championship game and he proves what he says through his actions and results as an offensive coach.

“A lot of his offense matches my game. think I am similar to Max Duggan and Coach Riley had a lot of success with him.”
