Austin (Texas) Vandegrift four-star offensive lineman Ian Reed has committed to Clemson, announcing the news Tuesday on social media.

His announcement comes off the heels of his official visit to the school this weekend.

Reed is the No. 286 overall prospect in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

“This recruiting process has been a long journey,” Reed said. “To have over 29 schools believe in my abilities to play for their University is a blessing in its self. Ever since I was a little kid I dreamed of playing football at the next level. I grew up watching college football every Saturday and I always knew that one I day, I’d get my opportunity: If it weren’t for the loving support of God, my family, friends, and teammates I wouldn’t be where I am today. I’d also like to thank every Coach and Administrator at Vandegrift High School who motivate and encourage me every day to be the man I aspire to be. With all of that being said, l’d like to announce I will being furthering my academic and athletic career at Clemson University.”

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $8.7k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Reed is the sixth commit in the 2023 recruiting class for the Tigers. The class now ranks 10th in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking.

Atlanta Westlake four-star cornerback Avieon Terrell, the younger brother of former Clemson star A.J. Terrell, joined the recruiting class Monday.

“It was a family atmosphere,” Terrell told On3. “Everything up there just felt like home. I couldn’t build a relationship with anyone else like the one I had with Clemson. … It was just family. I couldn’t go anywhere else.”
