With each passing week, Clemson fans have more and more reason to feel secure about the Tigers’ running back room for the foreseeable future. Over the weekend, a pair of RBs pledged to Dabo Swinney and Co. continued their impressive high school seasons.

Down in the Peach State, Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb four-star tailback David Eziomume found the end zone three times in a 35-17 win. The 6-foot, 195-pounder tallied 22 carries and totaled 268 yards, further solidifying his potential.

Eziomume is the No. 377 overall prospect and No. 33 RB in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He didn’t even have the top performance for an RB pledged to the Tigers, however.

That honor goes to Lynchburg (Va.) Liberty Christian four-star Gideon Davidson. The elite RB found pay dirt a whopping six times while accumulating 275 yards in only one half of play. He propelled his team to an easy 62-10 beatdown in the process.

Davidson is the No. 80 prospect, No. 7 RB and No. 2 player in Virginia in the 2025 cycle. He’s one of two juniors pledged to Clemson in the class and continues to make a name for himself in the Old Dominion. When committing to the Tigers on June 14, the 5-foot-11 burner had a bevy of reasons.

“I considered academics,  culture on and off the field by the players and staff,” he told On3. “Opportunity to win a national championship, developing a really good relationship with a running back coach who played at a high level, a school and football program really interested in preparing me well for life after football, use of running backs in their offensive scheme, had a real good student Christian ministry and if possible within six hours of home. Clemson had all of those factors that’s why I went ALL IN.”

Eziomume had similar reasons, pointing to his relationships with Swinney and Clemson’s new offensive coordinator, Garrett Riley. He’s the lone running back in the Tigers’ 2024 class, which ranks No. 13 in the nation, per the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Ranking.

“Every time that I walked on campus it was like home,” Eziomume said. “I’ve been to Clemson before but it was different (on Jan. 28). Meeting everybody and seeing the new offensive coordinator Garrett Riley and knowing the offense he runs. There’s so much to it. Your head coach is humble, he’s a great man and he’s talking to everybody. You can see the energy. He doesn’t put on an act.”
