Monroe (N.C.) four-star safety Jordan Young continues to maneuver through his recruitment as one of the top defensive backs in the 2025 cycle.

After visiting NC State on Tuesday, Young is making his way down to South Carolina on Wednesday for his latest visit with Clemson. The 6-foot, 170-pounder announced via social media that he’s set to see the Tigers for a second time this year.

Clemson has already locked in an official visit with Young, too. He’ll be back at the end of May for the first of what’s currently three scheduled OVs. He’s also set for officials with Florida State (June 14) and Tennessee (June 21).

It’s Dabo Swinney and Co. that’s currently trending for Young, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). Last month, he labeled the Tigers as a “top-three” school and could be one of the next top prospects out of the Carolinas to make the pledge to the ACC program.

“The way Clemson keeps in contact, the relationship I have with the coaches, their winning program, and development of players keep me going back to Clemson,” Young told On3. “My connection with the staff is great. The coach I have the connection with is safeties coach Mickey Conn.”

Young is the nation’s No. 33 overall prospect, No. 2 safety and No. 2 recruit from North Carolina in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. According to the 2025 On300, Young is the No. 29 prospect in the class and top-ranked safety.

Clemson Class Breakdown

Clemson’s 11-man class consists of 10 blue-chip prospects, including the nation’s No. 28 recruit in Norfolk (Va.) Maury four-star EDGE Ari Watford. Watford pledged to the Tigers near the end of January.

“Clemson is a very unique place,” Watford told On3. “The people there and the family-oriented culture Coach Swinney has built stood out to me. People go to Clemson go for the right reasons and that’s something I’ve wanted to be a part of growing up.”

Nine additional four-star recruits are committed to the Tigers, including: Durham (N.C.) Southern defensive lineman Isaiah Campbell, Lynchburg (Va.) Liberty Christian Academy running back Gideon Davidson, Lake City (S.C.) South Florence defensive lineman Amare Adams, Buford (Ga.) offensive tackle Brayden Jacobs, Lawrence (Mass.)
