Colorado offensive lineman Savion Washington plans to enter NCAA transfer portal

Colorado offensive tackle Savion Washington plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, On3’s Hayes Fawcett has learned. It will be his second transfer in as many season after he spent the first three years of his college career playing at Kent State.

Washington started in nine of the 10 games he appeared in for the Buffaloes this past season at right tackle. He earned a 69.4 pass blocking grade according to Pro Football Focus and has the size to make a major impact at 6-foot-9 and 325 pounds.

Prior to arriving in Boulder, Washington started 11 of 12 games for Kent State in 2022. It was a big step forward after appearing in only one game the two seasons prior.

As a recruit, Washington was a three-star prospect coming out of St. Vincent St. Mary High School in Akron, where NBA legend LeBron James attended. He ranked as the No. 2,276 overall player and No. 231 offensive tackle in the 2020 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Colorado is coming off of a 4-8 finish in its inaugural season under coach Deion Sanders. The Buffaloes enter 2024 in search of their first winning record since 2016.

Savion Washington wasn’t the only Colorado player to enter the transfer portal this offseason. The Buffaloes have lost a total of 19 players but added 25 and rank No. 2 according to On3’s Transfer Portal Team Rankings.

Colorado defensive back Jaden Milliner-Jones enters transfer portal

Colorado defensive back Jaden Milliner-Jones plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Milliner-Jones played in all 12 games this past season, starting one vs. Washington State. In total, Milliner-Jones finished with 25 total tackles, 19 solo and three pass breakups.

As a member of the Class of 2023, Milliner-Jones was a three-star recruit out of DeSoto (Texas), according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 239 overall prospect in Texas, the No. 143 safety in the class and the No. 1,455 overall prospect in the class.
