Deion Sanders Has Teams Running SCARED!! | Can Colorado FLIP These Top Recruits? | Buffs Recruiting

Ahead of the Colorado Buffaloes‘ game against the Colorado State Rams, Deion Sanders found a way to make the game personal when Jay Norvell made comments about taking his hat and sunglasses off to talk to adults. It wasn’t the first time Sanders made a game personal, having done it the week before with Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule.

Clearly, Sanders likes to make things personal ahead of games. He even says it’s been his favorite theme of the 2023 season for Colorado.

“Personal. It’s personal,” Deion Sanders told Taylor Rooks. “Because that applies to Tom, Dick, Harry, Mary, and Larry too. It’s not just an athletic thing. It’s so many things that we’re holding back and people have done.”

“We’re so angry about yesterday that we can’t even focus on today or tomorrow because we’re crippled and we’re afraid. So, something that happened that’s personal has taken a toll on us as a people. Let’s just take that power back. It’s okay to make it personal because you need to have something that drives you, that propels you, that energizes you. You’ve got to have something of that nature.”

Sanders added that there is a balance in trying to take things personally because it can make you emotional. Those emotions aren’t necessarily what Sanders is looking for.

“But, let’s keep it tight and keep it right because you’ve got to remain focused. You can’t get so emotional that it gets you off balance. I never allow emotions to provoke me to make a decision and I never make decisions based on emotions.”

This weekend, Colorado will take on Oregon. It will be interesting to see how Sanders finds a way to make things personal for the game.

Deion Sanders won’t compare his sons to other players

Shilo Sanders and Shedeur Sanders are starring for Colorado this season, making it a family affair for Deion Sanders. Now Deion Sanders wants to make something clear, he doesn’t want to compare them to other players. He wants his sons to be themselves on the field.

“I don’t do that with my kids. They ain’t the second of nobody. They’re the first of them. We ain’t doing that. No, no we don’t do that. We’re Sanders. When we take that walk, we always start off, ‘Let everybody in this country watching this game know our last name before we leave here tonight,’” Sanders said.

“Success, passion, purpose, dominance, knowledge, commitment, excellence. There’s so many attributes that I could continuously name. But with all that being said, we’re winners. We’re winners.”
