While Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders receives a good amount of ire from various individuals across the country, he also gets a ton of love. Following a difficult loss, like the one Colorado suffered at the hands of Oregon last Saturday, it could be difficult for some to shake it off. But with Sanders’ level of confidence in his program, it isn’t too difficult for him to do just that. Couple that with some of the best minds in football reaching out to him; the Buffaloes headman is in a good space leading the program.

Recently, when discussing the individuals who check up on him following a game, Sanders revealed that there is a surprising Super Bowl-winning head coach who likes to drop him a line in the Kansas City Chiefs headman Andy Reid.

“One person that you wouldn’t think that we correspond, that’s really good is Andy Reid,” said Sanders. “I mean, we just have this this love. I respect the heck out of him; you gotta know that. But, you know, just coming in after practice and you look on there and it’s a text message from Andy Reed. And I’m like, ‘Wow! What’s up, coach. Coach, can you help me with this running game?’”

As Sanders joked early on, he is familiar with Reid courtesy of his playing days in the NFL. There is no doubt about it: Reid had to game plan for the Buffaloes’ head coach when the two would face off, giving the former Cowboys star is regarded as the greatest corner in NFL history. Now, the duo shares a different relationship as Sanders is an ascending star at head coach in the college football ranks, and Reid is arguably one of the best to ever do it in the NFL.

Sanders opens up on celebrities wanting to attend Colorado games

Few things in college football in the last decade or so have caused the kind of stir that Deion Sanders and the Colorado program have, what with celebrities roaming the sideline and viewership numbers shattering records left and right.

Even for Sanders it’s a lot to keep up with. But fear not, he’s promising another star-studded sideline for this week’s contest against No. 8 USC.

“It’s going to be good. But I like that for you all,” Sanders said. “I like that some of these guys are parking their big jets on the nearest airport, and you’re going to see us. Shoot, I think half the NBA is going to be here.”

Sanders wouldn’t get into the full list of celebrities he expects to be there on Saturday, but the numbers will include some former Colorado stars.

He shared that two are already in town for the game.

“Also we have some former Buffs that’s here that I love, when the former players come back here,” Sanders said. “Like I just left Kordell (Stewart) and (Michael) Westbrook over there, they’re eating right now and I can’t wait to get back and chop it up with them.”
