Hoschton (Ga.) Mill Creek four-star EDGE KingJoseph Edwards is headed to Colorado for a visit with Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes this weekend.

And heading into that trip, Coach Prime’s program is now trending to land Edwards, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction (RPM).

Following picks from On3’s Sam Spiegelman and Chad Simmons, as well as OMSpirit.com’s Zach Berry, the Buffaloes are now the heavy favorite.

Edwards is is the nation’s No. 315 overall prospect and No. 29 EDGE in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average which utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Edwards is also the No. 34 player in Georgia.

Through nine games as a senior, he’s notched 18 tackles and five sacks, as well as seven quarterback hurries and an interception.

Buffaloes battling Ole Miss, Florida State for Edwards

In addition to Colorado, both Ole Miss and Florida State made Edwards’ most recent top three schools list.

He visited the Seminoles earlier this month and had high praise for the program.

“The game was good. This was the first home game I went to, but the third time I’ve seen them play,” Edwards told Warchant.com. “I think what really sticks out is people never thought they’d be this successful. I think people didn’t know they were working hard over the summer, and it’s all paying off.”

Ole Miss, meanwhile, hosted him for the Georgia Tech game in September, and he has developed a strong relationship with the staff in Oxford.

“I have a good relationship with Coach Golding from his time at Alabama and coach (Enrique) Davis from his time at WKU so it felt very familiar because we are well acquainted,” Edwards told OMSpirit. “I also spoke with coach (Randall) Joyner.”

With the Buffs, the charge is led by defensive line coach Nick Williams, who is looking to upgrade the defensive front in a big way. CU already has commitments along the line from four-stars Brandon Davis-Swain and Amontrae Bradford, as well as three-stars Eric Brantley Jr. and Omar White.
