Deion Sanders revealed his son and starting safety Shilo Sanders returned to practice Tuesday after suffering an injury against Oregon a few weeks ago.

Shilo Sanders did not play against USC along with two-way star Travis Hunter. But it appears Colorado is starting to return to health ahead of a big game against Arizona State.

It’ll be a get-right type of game and Deion Sanders was happy to see Shilo back on the field.

“Shilo’s great and he’s back on the practice field,” Deion Sanders said. “He’s back on getting on my nerves. So he’s picking up where we left off.”

In four games this season, Shilo Sanders has 26 total tackles, 21 solo tackles, one forced fumble, one interception and one touchdown, which he scored against Colorado State.

As a member of the Class of 2019, Shilo Sanders was a three-star recruit out of Cedar Hill (Texas) Trinity Christian School, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 69 overall prospect in the state, the No. 57 safety in the class and the No. 584 overall prospect in the class.

Initially, Deion Sanders talked about Shilo during USC game week, praying his son would be able to play.

“He’s doing better,” Sanders said of his son. “We went to the hospital right after we landed. He’s doing much better. We’re praying that he heals and he’s playing this weekend. He’s a valuable part of our secondary and our team defensively.

“(Shilo’s) one of the voices on the defense and he plays with a certain physicality that we desire and we want and he’s given me daily updates trust me, and I’m praying that he can play as a father as well as a coach.”

But with it looking like Shilo Sanders will return against Arizona State, Deion talked about what this game means for Colorado.

“Well, last week wasn’t about expectations, last week was about winning,” Deion Sanders said. “This week is more about expectations than many of the other weeks, because that’s the expectation that we have of ourselves to go in and win this game. You want to win every game but I mean, you really expect to win some games a lot more than others. This game we expect to run the football, we’ve shown that we could last week. We expect to throw the ball successfully. We’ve shown that we can in its totality during the whole season. We’ve shown that when we take something away …

“Expectations is to shut the big plays down, scramble plays with a break in containing, the kid did a great job. That’s why he won the Heisman Trophy last year. But if we stay in our zones and stay with a man, that doesn’t happen. So the expectation is to do your job for the four to five seconds that that play involves. So our expectations of ourselves is a lot more than the expectation that you may have of us, but we have tremendous expectations for this season. And we’re just getting started with it. We really are.”
