Colorado head coach Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes added to their 2024 class in a unique way Tuesday afternoon. While on Sanders was on Instagram Live, Calabasas (Calif.) four-star athlete Aaron Butler announced his pledge to the Buffaloes.

Butler commented on Sanders’ live announcing his pledge to the Buffaloes.

“Well, I think that describes me to a tee Coach, no cap,” Butler wrote. ” With that being said, I want to officially announce my commitment to the University of Colorado to the world. #WECOMING.”

He would go on to join the live shortly afterwards.

Saying that he didn’t want to violate any recruiting rules, Sanders said that he was going to let Butler speak while Sanders celebrated in the background.

Butler left shortly afterwards while Sanders and another Colorado coach continued to celebrate before ending the video.

Butler’s commitment comes almost a month after he was on campus for the Buffaloes’ spring game. That trip was his second of the spring to Colorado.

The 5-foot-11.5, 165-pound Butler is the No. 122 overall prospect and No. 4 athlete in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 16 player in California.

With his pledge, Butler is currently the highest-ranked player in Colorado’s 2024 recruiting class. The class currently has five pledges and is ranked No. 22 in the country and No. 2 in the Pac-12.

Colorado’s other 2024 pledges include Valdosta (Ga.) four-star defensive lineman Omar White, Indianapolis (Ind.) Cathedral three-star quarterback Danny O’Neil, Valdosta (Ga.) three-star defensive lineman Eric Brantley Jr. and Saint Peters (Mo.) Nevada three-star interior offensive lineman Talan Chandler.

The Buffaloes 2024 class currently ranks 11 spots higher than where they finished during the 2023 recruiting cycle. That class finished No. 33 in the country and was headlined by five-star cornerback Cormani McClain and four-star running back Dylan Edwards.
