The last thing you want to worry about ahead of a big game is travel accommodations. Every team participating in the Sweet 16 over the next two days wants to be solely locked in on their region’s matchups. However, UConn’s men’s basketball team didn’t initially have that luxury in Las Vegas.

Per David Borges at CTInsider, the Huskies arrived in Sin City to some incredibly disgusting circumstances. Upon checking into their hotel, they found their rooms were filled with dirt and vomit among other nasty conditions.

“They immediately found several of their rooms to be in awful condition. Let’s just say the room’s previous occupants seemingly enjoyed Vegas a little too much,” wrote Borges. “It apparently looked like the boys from ‘The Hangover’ had been there the night before. Dirt, vomit … and worse.”

Borges went on to add in the article, though, that the NCAA had handled the situation and moved UConn’s team to a new “nearby, high-level hotel.”

In his comment in the story, Huskies AD David Benedict said this wasn’t something that the program wanted “to make a big deal out of.” In the end, he said everything had “worked out fine” when it came to the situation’s resolution.

After dealing with this headache, UConn then practiced on Tuesday evening and things have been back to business ever since. Now, hopefully, their new rooms are making up for this whole thing as they try to prepare to compete against Arkansas tonight inside T-Mobile Arena.

Adama Sanogo previews inside matchup with Arkansas

Adama Sanogo and the Connecticut Huskies are ready for the immense challenge the Arkansas Razorbacks  will present.

When speaking with the media in advance of the game against the Razorbacks, the Connecticut forward previewed the inside matchup with Arkansas, elaborating on what he’ll be looking for on Thursday.

“I can say Arkansas, they’re good offensive. So it’s going to be a fight on our offensive end because we know they’re going to go for it. And we work on offensive every day in practice,” stated Sanogo. “Coach Hurley, that’s one thing we do, we work on that every day in practice. I feel like, go on the glass and gain the offensive, that’s something we work on every practice.”

Moreover, Sanogo has been fantastic throughout the season for Connecticut, averaging 17.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per game throughout the 2022-2023 season. In the Huskies Round of 64 showdown with Iona, Sanogo scored 28, and followed that up with a 24 point performance against Saint Mary’s in the Round of 32.

Obviously, he’s on a mission. Arkansas represents a unique challenge for the Huskies star though, as they’re battle tested and ready to roll.
