Plenty of athletes take some time after they finish their basketball careers to go back and wrap up their degrees. For Carlos Boozer, it took a little bit longer. Two decades after he wrapped up his prolific career for the Duke Blue Devils, the star power forward finally graduated.

Check out the picture below.

As a high school prospect, Carlos Boozer was one of the best players in America and he was named a McDonald’s All-American in 1999.

In college, of course he suited up for the Duke Blue Devils and helped his team accomplish remarkable things during his time there. Boozer guided his team to a 2001 National Championship. In the 2002 season, he racked up a number of individual accolades–such as first team All-ACC honors and third team All-American honors.

In the NBA, Boozer went on to have a very, very good professional career. At the peak of his time in the NBA, the former Duke star was averaging a double-double. The 2007 season with the Utah Jazz, Boozer averaged 21.1 points per game and 10.4 rebounds per game. The Alaskan native averaged a double-double for four years during his time in the NBA. Boozer also got to suit up for the 2008 Team USA Olympic basketball team — when they won the gold medal over Spain in a hotly contested battle, 118-107.

For his entire NBA career, Boozer averaged 16.2 points per game, 9.5 rebounds per game, and 2.2 assists per game. The journeyman lasted 13 years in the league and was named to the NBA All-Star team twice.

Carlos Boozer has two children coming up the basketball ranks

Boozer’s two sons are currently in the class of 2025. Cameron and Cayden Boozer have turned heads early on in their young basketball careers. The freshmen have already scored offers from both Miami and FIU. They’ve also been hearing from Florida State, Memphis, Michigan, and Kansas. Since it’s so early, the two aren’t really worried about their recruitment, considering they still have several years of high school left.
