Lehigh Acres (Fla.) Lehigh Senior four-star running back Richard Young is in Gainesville, Fla., for Saturday’s rivalry game between Florida and Florida State.

This is the second time in three weeks Young is visiting the Gators.

Young is the No. 42 overall recruit in the country, according to the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He is the second-best running back prospect in the 2023 cycle behind El Campo (Texas) four-star Rueben Owens.

Florida is in a much different place than it was when Richard Young last visited

When Young last visited Florida, Dan Mullen was the head coach of the program.

That is no longer the case, and the 2022 recruiting class has seen many changes.

Winter Garden (Fla.) West Orange wide receiver Jayden Gibson, Ocala (Fla.) Forest four-star wide receiver Jamarrien Burt and Buford (Ga.) four-star athlete Isaiah Bond all decommitted from the school.

Orlando (Fla.) Bishop Moore Catholic four-star wide receiver Chander Smith and Flower Mound (Texas) Flower Mound four-star quarterback Nick Evers both reopened their recruitments, although did not decommit.

However, the Gators were able to secure a commitment from four-star Owasso (Okla.) defensive lineman Chris McClellan despite no having a head coach this week.
