Mobile (Ala.) Faith Academy four-star linebacker Shemar James received an in-home visit Monday from Florida linebackers coach Christian Robinson.

James is the No. 70 overall prospect in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

James decommitted from Florida on Oct. 20. With his decommitment, Georgia and Alabama jumped to the front of his recruitment.

Winter Garden (Fla.) West Orange senior wide receiver Jayden Gibson was visited Monday by Florida passing game coordinator and wide receiver coach Billy Gonzales during the school day.

Gibson reopened his recruitment, but did not decommit after Dan Mullen was fired. He tweeted this weekend that he was “locked in” with the program.

While Gibson elected to say committed, many other recruits have decided the opposite recently.

James’ decommitment was the first of a flurry of Gators decommits that have happened over the last month. Buford (Ga.) four-star athlete Isaiah Bond, Houston Clear Lake four-star cornerback Julian Humphrey and Ocala (Fla.) Forest four-star wide receiver Jamarrien Burt have also decommitted during this time.

“First I’d like to thank Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior for putting me in this position and the staff at the University of Florida for welcoming me with open arms,” James said when he decommitted. “This was a tough decision for me and my mom to make, but I will be de-committing from the University of Florida to open my recruitment back up.”
