Tampa Gaither four-star athlete Darryon Williams has committed to Florida State.

The 5-foot-11, 165-pounder chose the in-state Seminoles while also holding offers from the likes of Iowa, Iowa State and others.

Williams is the No. 81 overall prospect and No. 4 athlete in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

On3 ranks Williams higher than other recruiting services, as he checks in as the No. 44 recruit and No. 3 ATH in the 2026 On300.

“I’ve been to several schools over the past two years and this just felt like home!! Coaching staff was what I was looking for and a great education,” Williams told On3’s Steve Wiltfong of his decision. “I didn’t want someone trying to pressure me with flashy things and fast talk they just kept it real.”

Williams visited Tallahassee at the end of March, earned an offer and quickly opted to pull the trigger on his pledge to Mike Norvell and Co.

“What a day!!! It couldn’t have went any better!! I loved everything about FSU from academics to the coaches!! They made me feel special and like family,” Williams wrote on social media after his visit.

The 5-foot-11, 165-pounder becomes the third member of FSU’s 2026 class, joining Vero Beach (Fla.) four-star athlete Efrem White and Miami Barbara Goleman four-star safety Darryl Bell. All three prospects are inside the top 200 in the On3 Industry Ranking. White headlines as the No. 59 player overall and the No. 2 ATH in the cycle.

“I love the environment and energy they bring,” White, who committed in December, previously told Warchant. “The facility is great, and so are the fans. But most of all, I really respect and love how the coaching staff runs everything. They really make it feel like I’m home when I’m there, and I love the way they treat academics to better the players off the field.”
