Mike Norvell and Florida State fans may want to consider playing Venice (Fla.) five-star cornerback commit Charles Lester III as a wide receiver for good after what the 6-foot-1, 171-pounder pulled off on Friday night.

It’s crunch time in the high school football world as postseason play is ramping up, meaning the lights are brighter as many of the top recruits in the nation look to end their careers with a bang. Lester showed that he’s ready to take Venice as far as possible.

After making a catch, Lester got shifty, leading multiple defenders into each other as he weaved in and out of tackles, eventually waltzing into the end zone for the impressive score:

Lester is the No. 27 overall prospect and No. 2 corner in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 7 player in Florida.

He committed to FSU on July 28, choosing the Seminoles over AlabamaColorado and Georgia. Norvell prioritized Lester, which greatly helped the Noles pull off the big recruiting win.

“When I’m there, it’s the same him every time,” Lester told On3 upon his commitment. “You won’t get the laid back him or anything like that because he’s hyped every time. I can’t speak for no other recruit but every time I was at Florida State, Coach Norvell made me feel like I was the only person he wanted out of this class.”

Lester has an On3 NIL Valuation of $274K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
