The Elite 11 Finals is once again set to host a Florida State commit. After FSU true freshman Luke Kromenhoek claimed the honor in 2023, current Seminoles pledge and Jacksonville Mandarin product Tramell Jones has become the latest gunslinger to join the illustrious list of QBs.

On Sunday, Jones received his invitation after showing out at the Elite 11 Regionals in Oxford, Miss. He and Notre Dame QB commit Deuce Knight became the latest to join the growing group of invitees.

There are few higher honors for high school quarterbacks than being invited to the Elite 11 Finals. The event, which will celebrate its 25th year in 2024, brings together the country’s elite signal-callers for three days of competition and training in Los Angeles.

Elite 11 alumni include Carson PalmerAndrew LuckMatthew StaffordTim Tebow, and more recently Trevor LawrenceC.J. StroudBryce Young and more. Last year’s Elite 11 Finals featured more than a dozen of the top 20 quarterbacks in the final On3 Industry Rankings, including each of the top five players at the position.

Jones is the elder statesman of FSU’s 2025 class

The 6-foot, 185-pounder has officially been pledged to Mike Norvell and Co. for over a year. He committed on April 1, 2023 and has not wavered in his decision to stay home in the Sunshine State.

“I have a great relationship with the coaching. The whole coaching staff always welcomes me when I’m on campus but the person I have the closest relationship with is Coach Tokarz and Coach Norvell. Their plan for me is to be the face of FSU and to make the best play and person. I want to be the best to ever come out of FSU,” Jones told On3 upon his commitment.

Other programs have remained in pursuit of Jones, but he remains locked in with the Noles. The QB has seen Norvell’s vision in Tallahassee slowly turn into reality, and he’s excited to join the bustling ACC program.

“The intensity and recruiting is what has Florida State back. This is Florida State’s era. It is a new era at Florida State and Coach Norvell is going to keep this dynasty building,” Jones said last fall.

“Coach Norvell is full of energy, he recruits hard and that has the program back. He is intense, he is loud, he is energetic and there is a lot of excitement there. The players are playing hard, he is getting recruits in and as long as the team keeps playing the brand of football Coach Norvell wants, Florida State is going to keep winning.”

Last season for Mandarin, Jones completed 183 passes for 3,195 yards and 33 touchdowns while throwing just seven interceptions. Across three seasons, he’s hurled for over 6,700 yards and 70 TDs.
