As Mycah Pittman gets ready for his first season with Florida State after transferring from Oregon, he might have suffered a setback Saturday.

Pittman left the Seminoles’ spring game holding his right shoulder, according to Noles247’s Brendan Sonnone. He scored on a two-point conversion to kick things off, but ended up going to the locker room with the training staff. His day was over.

Pittman transferred to Florida State over the offseason after three seasons at Oregon. In that time, he totaled 38 receptions for 547 yards and two touchdowns — both of which came as a freshman in 2019. When he committed to Florida State, he was the No. 46 transfer in the transfer portal, according to the On3 Transfer Portal Rankings.

Florida State is coming off a 5-7 overall record in 2021, including a 3-4 mark in ACC action.

Former Florida State legends served as guest coaches for spring game

The Seminoles had plenty of star power on the sidelines for the spring game. The program announced four legends came back as guest coaches for the event.

Peter BoulwareDanny KanellEJ Manuel and Bryant McFadden were all back in Tallahassee for the game, Mike Norvell announced Wednesday. All four played in the NFL after college and are huge parts of Florida State history.

“I am excited for the opportunity to welcome back all of our football alumni this weekend and to spotlight these four incredible individuals,” Norvell said. “They all earned individual and team success while here at Florida State, and they have all gone on to make an impact in their professional careers as well. I appreciate their commitment to this program and their passion for this university. We are going to enjoy having them around our program this weekend, and I’m looking forward to seeing them call plays during the Main Event.”

Boulware played at Florida State from 1993-96 and his 19.0 sacks in 1996 set a program record. He finished with 34.0 sacks in three full seasons, ranking third on the Seminoles’ all-time list.

Kanell won 20 of his 24 games as quarterback at Florida State from 1992-95. The Seminoles won two ACC titles while he was under center, and he took home ACC Player of the Year honors in 1995.

Manuel starred for the Seminoles from 2008-12, going 25-6 as a starting quarterback and winning four straight bowl games. The Buffalo Bills drafted him No. 16 overall in 2013 and he played in the league until 2017, starting 18 games.

McFadden played in 48 games from 2000-04 and wound up heading to the Pittsburgh Steelers as the No. 62 overall pick. With Pittsburgh, he won two Super Bowls before his career ended in 2011.
