Georgia defensive lineman Jordan Davis is one of the most terrifying figures in all of college football. He’s 6-foot-6, 340 pounds and runs insanely well for a player his size.

Check out the video clip below as Davis shows off his mind-blowing quickness to the sideline to make the tackle.

Davis has developed into one of the top defensive line prospects for the 2022 NFL Draft. Simply put, it will be hard to find any human on earth as big as him that’s able to run like he can.

Kirby Smart on Jordan Davis

Not surprisingly, Davis has his head coach Kirby Smart is fired up about how well he’s been playing early in the season for the ‘Dawgs. Smart spoke about him to reporters on a zoom press conference earlier in the week.

“Yeah, I’m really excited about Jordan,” Smart said. “I think he’s a tremendous worker, tremendous person. I think you’re seeing the side of Jordan that we had seen prior (to this year), but Tray (Scott), has done a great job honing in his skill set. He initially was a block striker and anchor. I would say, an immovable object. And that was great. But that only gets you so far, and to get tackles for loss, you’ve gotta be quick. You’ve gotta stunt step, you’ve gotta have twists, you’ve gotta have gains.

“I think where Tray and Dan (Lanning) and Schu (Glenn Schumann), and all the guys on the defensive staff do a great job of creating movement, so the guys up front can make plays.”

Smart also noted the move to the “havoc defense” by Georgia a few years ago is what has really helped Davis take the next step in his development and that he is “not necessarily lighter but he is quicker” than he has been in years past.

In the Clemson game this year, Davis dominated for much of the contest and took home On3 Player of the Week honors. He had three tackles, one sack, and one tackle for loss in the 10-3 win over the Tigers.

So far for this year, Davis has racked up eight tackles, three tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and three quarterback hurries. The man is a massive mismatch on the defensive side of the football. His dominance has drawn the attention of opposing coaches like South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer.

Davis and the Bulldogs suit up this Saturday against the Vanderbilt Commodores.
