Former SEC West analyst finds new position

“Will Bryant, a former analyst at Auburn, Arkansas and SMU, is expected to be hired as the tight ends [and] H-backs coach at Incarnate Word,” reported On3’s Matt Zenitz on Wednesday. “Spent this season on Chad Morris’ staff at Allen High School in Texas.”

Bryant has worked most of his coaching career under Chad Morris, outside of his stint as offensive analyst for UTSA and Auburn in 2020. Bryant worked as a graduate assistant from 2015 to 2018 under Morris when he was head coach of SMU. When Morris was hired as head coach of Arkansas, Bryant got his first analyst job with the Razorbacks.

After working for Auburn and UTSA, Bryant has spent the 2021 season reunited with Morris on his staff at Allen High School. On Wednesday it was announced he was returning to the college football world as a coach for the first time.

According to On3’s Matt Zenitz, the new Incarnate Word coaching staff is expected to feature another new addition with an SEC West background. Former Auburn running back Kam Martin is joining the staff as running backs coach. Martin played four years for Auburn, from 2016 to 2019. While Martin had left the program before Bryant’s addition, the pair of former Tigers will meet up under new Incarnate Word head coach G. J. Kinne.

Kinne was first hired by Morris at SMU in 2017 as an assistant coach, adding another former connection to Bryant before their newest positions.
