Indiana offers 2024 top-150 RB Corey Smith
Waukesha (Wis.) Catholic Memorial four-star running back Corey Smith received an offer from Indiana on Wednesday. He announced the news over Twitter.
Smith is the No. 126 overall prospect and No. 9 running back in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 2 player in Wisconsin.
The 5-foot-11, 165-pound tailback holds 15 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Wisconsin has a close lead for his commitment at 38.1%.
RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.
It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.
The Hoosiers do not have any commitments in their 2024 recruiting class. Meanwhile, Indiana’s 2023 class contains 13 pledges and ranks No. 71 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings, as well as No. 14 in the Big Ten.
