Brandon (S.D.) Brandon Valley three-star interior offensive lineman Navarro Schunke has announced his commitment to the Kansas State Wildcats.

Despite being rated a 4-star prospect by two major recruiting services, Kansas State insider Derek Young reported that Schunke is committing to the Wildcats as a preferred walk-on.

Schunke is the nation’s No. 556 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 46 interior offensive lineman and No. 2 player in South Dakota.

He does not currently have a publicly listed On3 NIL Valuation. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Kansas State working to improve 2024 class

Things are finally starting to take shape for the Wildcats’ 2024 class thanks to the trio of commitment flips this month. Jarrell (Texas) three-star wide receiver Jacques Spradley-Demps earlier today became the 10th pledge for a K-State class that now ranks No. 70 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Headlining the class is a trio of in-state pledges: Lyndon three-star offensive tackle Kaedin Massey, Shawnee Mill Valley three-star OT Gus Hawkins and Stilwell Blue Valley three-star running back John Price.

Other commits include Castle Rock (Co.) Douglas County three-star safety Jake Stonebraker, Erie (Co.) three-star quarterback Blake Barnett, Downington (Pa.) West three-star interior offensive lineman Ryan Howard and West Des Moines (Iowa) Dowling Catholic three-star IOL Kyle Rakers.

The Wildcats are also currently trending for Kansas City Liberty North four-star EDGE Jayshawn Ross — the No. 326 recruit and No. 31 EDGE in the cycle — according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).

Ross would be K-State’s highest-ranked commit if he were to pick the Wildcats. The likes of Alabama and Ole Miss are beginning to get involved in his recruitment, while Nebraska was a frontrunner for his pledge back in the summer. He was also in Manhattan on a visit on Oct. 21.
