With the addition of a new expert prediction for the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Kansas State is now trending to land the commitment of Kansas City (Mo.) Liberty North four-star EDGE Jayshawn Ross.

Nebraska recruiting insider Bryan Munson logged an expert prediction with a 50% confidence level that the Wildcats would receive the pledge of the talented pass rusher. Kansas State now leads for Ross at 51.9% in the RPM to Nebraska’s 38%.

Kansas State was not part of Ross’ top five schools in June, but he posted in August that he would be reopening his recruitment.

“I would like to thank all the schools who have been recruiting me,” Ross wrote. “I am both thankful and humbled by their recruitment. With that being said, my family and I would like to announce that I am re-opening my recruitment. I’m looking forward to finding the best place to continue my academic and athletic career.”

Ross is the nation’s No. 325 overall prospect and No. 31 pass rusher in the 2024 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 8 player in Missouri.

He does not currently have a publicly listed On3 NIL Valuation. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Kansas State class looking for boost

Kansas State’s class is certainly looking for a boost, as it ranks No. 97 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 15 in the Big 12. Its seven commits are far below the average commits per class threshold nationwide. Lyndon (Kan.) three-star offensive tackle Kaedin Massey ranks No. 499 in the On3 Industry Ranking and headlines the Wildcats’ class.

Ross would immediately become the highest-rated prospect in the Wildcats’ class were he to choose the royal purple and white.

“As a player, whoever gets me is going to get the best of the best. I am going to go out and outwork anyone that is in front of me. I am going to give it my all for the coach I play for,” Ross told On3’s Chad Simmons last June.
