The most bizarre (and impressive) special teams mishap sealed Kentucky‘s 21-17 victory over Missouri Saturday afternoon.

Kentucky punter Colin Goodfellow recovered a botched snap from long snapper Cade Degraw, which went way above his head. Goodfellow recovered it near the goal line, and was able to miraculously get the punt off before being drilled by a Missouri defender.

The hit drew a roughing the kicker call thanks to Goodfellow remaining in the tackle box, which gave the ‘Cats a much-needed first down. Unfortunately, Goodfellow was writhing in pain after the play and was carted off the field with a leg injury.

Kentucky, Missouri get into altercation on UK sideline

A fight broke out on the sidelines between Kentucky and Missouri as the first quarter expired.

UK QB Will Levis was pushed out of bounds by Mizzou’s Trajan Jeffcoat. After some words were exchanged between Jeffcoat and the Kentucky sideline, the altercation escalated to pushing and shoving that saw nearly the entirety of the Kentucky bench get involved, including tight ends coach Vince Marrow.

The rest of the Missouri defense that was on the field came over to help, and defensive lineman Josh Landry was ultimately called for unsportsmanlike conduct, much to the dismay of Tigers headman Eli Drinkwitz.
