Things have been tense this season for Scott Satterfield at Louisville. Now in his fourth season at Louisville, Satterfield’s record is 21-22, he publicly wanted another job, Louisville publicly wanted another coach, and now he is firmly on the hot seat. It’s so bad that there were conflicting reports about whether or not he’d be fired for losing to Virginia, a team Louisville ended up beating.

Still, Scott Satterfield has a job to do. He is the head coach of Louisville until he isn’t. While speaking to the media, Satterfield was asked about all the outside noise and if he’s had conversations internally about the program.

“There’s a conversation after every week,” Scott Satterfield said. “Win or lose, we always have conversations.”

“Conversation after last week, so, hey what can we do to get better? Like how are you going to get better? So, you know, the things that I shared with y’all [reporters] is kind of what I was sharing with our–Josh Heird and our administration. Like, hey, we’re gonna do whatever we can to get better, and here’s the things that we’re gonna do, and then let’s go out and try to make it happen.”

Scott Satterfield also wanted to make it clear that there is plenty of season to go, and they’re working on getting better. In particular, the program is trying to recruit and get healthy for the rest of the year.

“I mean we’re still early in the season. We’re at the halfway point. There’s a lot of ball left to be played, and we take it one game at a time. For us, we got to heal up. We’ve got a bunch of dings. We had, you know, Adonis Boone went down today on the goal line. We’ve got a bunch of guys who are dinged up. So, we got to heal up next week. We got to go out and recruit. Continue to recruit. And, then, you know, we’re on to Pittsburgh the following week,” Scott Satterfield concluded.

Louisville is on a bye this week before playing Pitt. Following that game, the Cardinals play five straight teams who are currently ranked in the AP Top 25 to end the season. Those games are against Wake Forest, James Madison, Clemson, NC State, and Kentucky.
