Taylor Swift wasn’t the only music artist drawing attention on Super Bowl Sunday. Through a new NIL deal with Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys, LSU women’s basketball star and influencer Flau’jae Johnson dropped a remix of the law firm’s jingle during the big game.

The partnership is only Johnson’s latest venture. The sophomore guard also boasts deals with PoweradeTampax, Amazon, Doritos, Papa John’s, Raising Cane’s and Meta. Additionally, Johnson has her own shoe deal with Puma.

Johnson has a $1.1 million On3 NIL valuation, ranking No. 16 in the On3 NIL 100. Johnson isn’t the only one on her team reeling in big bucks. LSU forward Angel Reese has an On3 NIL valuation of $1.7 million, the seventh-most among college athletes.

On Thursday, LSU head coach Kim Mulkey weighed in on her two star players’ massive success in the NIL space.

“I guess they do great. All I know is I judge them based on when they’re on the floor and it’s the same old Angel and the same old Flau’jae,” Mulkey said. “They’re out here to try and do what they did last year.

“I didn’t see that Super Bowl commercial and they were hollering. It was gone by the time I got back in the room. I’m sure she’s still doing the same stuff she’s always done.”

Flau’Jae Johnson continues to grow her brand

Johnson’s rap career isn’t a simple past time. The Georgia native has a record deal with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation. In fact, Johnson announced her commitment to LSU with the release of a new song “All Falls Down,” accompanied by a music video that featured Baton Rouge’s Lil Boosie.

Johnson averages 45,565 monthly listeners on Spotify. Her most listened-to track “Big 4” has garnered over 900,000 plays. As Mulkey mentioned, Johnson isn’t only getting it done in the recording booth, but the court too.

Johnson is averaging 13.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per game this season while shooting 48.4% from the field and 33.3% from beyond the arc. Johnson is also a defensive force, averaging 2.3 steals and .8 blocks per contest.

Now, Johnson will be a part of another lucrative venture. Amazon Prime Video recently greenlit a docuseries on LSU athletics. It will be called The Money Game and is set to follow the department’s on and off-field success for the 2023-2024 athletics seasons, with a focus on NIL.

Among the LSU athletes involved in the show are All-American women’s basketball star Angel Reese, Heisman-Trophy winning quarterback Jayden Daniels, famed gymnast Livvy Dunne and Flau’Jae Johnson.
