Jaydon Daniels was an On3 Consensus four-star recruit coming out of San Bernardino (California) Cajon in the 2019 recruiting class. Daniels signed with Arizona State, picking the Sun Devils after also visiting Utah, UCLA and Cal. After graduating from high school early, he became the starting quarterback for the Sun Devils in 2019 – the first true freshman to earn the nod in ASU history. He threw for 2,943 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2019 and 2,380 yards in 2021. Daniels eventually entered the Transfer Portal and selected LSU. He was the central reason why LSU won the SEC West, and he earned the respect of rival coaches along the way. “So much of their success is tied to that position as a whole, being able to make good decisions,” UGA coach Kirby Smart said. “Their guy has done an elite job of doing that.”
