LSU is hosting a myriad of elite prospects this weekend in Baton Rouge. The Tigers already have the top-ranked recruiting class in the 2025 cycle and are trending to add more to the fold.

Nine top-50 recruits are in The Boot — one of whom is Jesup (Ga.) Wayne County four-star linebacker Tavion Wallace. The rising blue-chipper posed with Tigers head coach Brian Kelly for a photo on Saturday:

Last month, Wallace sat down with On3’s Phillip Dukes to break down some of the top contenders in his recruitment. LSU is in the mix and has made its fair share of impressions on the the 6-foot-1, 197-pounder.

“Other than Florida, LSU’s been my dream school coming up. Then when I went to their game, they played Georgia State — it wasn’t really a big game, but the environment and everything around, Louisiana…it gets crazy down there,” Wallace said.

“The coaching staff, when I talk with Coach (Brian) Kelly, it was really all the things he said, ‘it’s bigger than football.’ All the coaching staff, it wasn’t just football they talked about, they talked about life and everything. Family, they were big on family, so that’s what really put them up there.”

Wallace is the No. 44 overall prospect and No. 4 LB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 9 player in Georgia.

Wallace is surrounded by the upper echelon of LSU’s pledge list, as Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Bryce Underwood, Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver Dakorien Moore and five-star running back Harlem Berry are among those also on campus this weekend. Five-star cornerback DJ Pickett, five-star linebacker Jonah Williams and five-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham are also in town.

LSU Class Breakdown

The Tigers have nine commitments so far in 2025, with all of them checking in as blue-chip prospects in the On3 Industry Ranking. The class features three five-stars (QB Bryce Underwood, RB Harlem Berry, WR Dakorien Moore) and six four-star prospects.

Seven of the nine future Tigers hail from the state of Louisiana, a recruiting priority for head coach Brian Kelly since he took over. In 2024, LSU signed 13 of the state’s top 17 prospects, including nine of the top 10.

The Tigers currently have the most blue-chip commitments in the country and the fifth-highest number of total commits as well. Seven are projected to play on the offensive side of the ball at the next level, while cornerback Jaboree Antoine and and linebacker Keylan Moses represent the defense.
