Baltimore St. Frances Academy three-star cornerback Kevyn Humes has committed to Maryland, he announced on Wednesday.

He chose the Terrapins over the likes of Penn State and Syracuse.

Humes is the No. 410 overall prospect and No. 38 CB in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 14 player in Maryland.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pounder reclassified from the 2025 cycle on Christmas Day, opting to head to college a year in advance.

“Me and my family and coaches have been talking about this since the beginning of the year,” Humes told On3 upon his reclassification. “I got serious about it after our last game against IMG Academy and I made the final decision to reclassify about two weeks ago.”

Humes now joins a Terrapins class that ranks inside the top 50 of the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. The class includes 21 signees — three of whom are also top-500 recruits in the On3 Industry Ranking.

Orlando Evans four-star safety Brandon Jacob is the lone blue-chipper in the fold, checking in at No. 358 overall and No. 33 at his position. He’s flanked by Springdale (Md.) Charles Herbert Flowers three-star CB Braydon Lee, who flipped to the Terps from South Carolina on Early National Signing Day.

“I feel like I need to stay home not only for myself, but also for my family. My family needs me, my community needs me,” Lee told On3. “I’m trying to help change the culture at Maryland because the DMV area produces a lot of NFL talent. So, just imagine if they all stayed home. I could be that cornerstone piece that they need to get that jumpstarted.”

Other top signees in Maryland’s 2024 class include Baltimore St. Frances Academy three-star running back DeJuan Williams, King George (Va.) three-star wide receiver Mekhai White and Severn (Md.) Archbishop Spalding three-star linebacker Keyshawn Flowers.
