Former Tennessee EDGE Tyler Baron will visit Miami on Saturday and Sunday, according to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos.

Baron entered the NCAA transfer portal in the winter period, initially committing to Ole Miss before later flipping his pledge to Louisville. He has since re-entered the portal and is seeking a new home yet again.

A talented four-year player at Tennessee, Baron is coming off the best season of his career.

In the 2023 campaign, Tyler Baron tallied a career-high 28 tackles and six sacks while also recovering a fumble. Baron was named the SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week after recording two sacks in Tennessee’s season-opening victory over Virginia.

In four seasons with the Volunteers, Baron made 48 appearances and amassed 101 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, 13.5 sacks, four passes defended, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Tyler Baron played high school football at Knoxville Catholic (TN), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 111 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Baron committed to Ole Miss in the portal on Dec. 16. Only one month later, Baron flipped his commitment to Louisville. Evidently, Tyler Baron still has not found what he’s looking for. He will be one of the top available defensive linemen in the transfer portal.

Miami to get visit from Michigan State defensive lineman

Michigan State defensive tackle Derrick Harmon entered the NCAA transfer portal this week and is already lining up potential visits as he seeks a new home.

According to On3’s Pete Nakos, Harmon has visits planned to Colorado, Miami and USC. He will visit Miami next week, with other trips still in the works.

Harmon is a promising fourth-year player who played in 28 career games for the Spartans. He started 15 games.

In the course of those three years at Michigan State, Harmon racked up 71 tackles, 6.5 tackles for a loss, 3.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and two pass breakups.
