It has been a long and winding road for Jaden Rashada, but the talented signal caller out of Pittsburg (Calif.) has decided he wants to be a Miami Hurricane.

Mario Cristobal and his staff beat out Florida in the end, but many other top programs were involved along the way for the No. 42 prospect in the On3 Consensus. Schools like California, LSU, Ole Miss, Oregon, and Texas A&M were also in play at one time.

The ACC program in Coral Gables is getting a star in Rashada.

“Jaden is a tremendous talent,” said Pittsburg head football coach Victor Galli. “Every time schools came out to see Jaden throw, regardless of where he was on their board, they left with him higher.

“The ball jumps out of his hand. He has tremendous arm strength, he is always prepared, and he throws a beautiful deep ball. He puts a lot of work in and he has so much more in him.”

As talented as Jaden is now, he still has so much more room to grow and develop.

“Jaden is just scratching the surface. Once he gets to the next level, the coaches will be able to mold him and develop him. He will be able to focus on his craft full-time and he is only going to get better.

“The sky is the limit for Jaden. We know he will be playing on Saturdays and he could be playing on Sundays one day too.”

Rashada is impressive off the field too

It is not only what Rashada is on the field, but coach Galli spoke highly about who the 6-foot-4, 185-pound rising senior is off the field as well.

“When Jaden gets to college, he will not take any baggage with him,” Gallis said. “He is a very down-to-earth young man that is a joy to talk to. He is very talented, but just a normal kid that coaches will love being around.

“Jaden works hard, he is well-grounded, and he is a high-character young man.”

Rashada has the drive to be great

Rashada was described as a “world traveler” by his head coach and that is not far off. He didn’t travel the world, but he visited a list of schools in the last few months and now that he is committed, Rashada will get back to his team and his craft.

He has that drive to take him far.

“Jaden is always working and he wants to be great,” Galli said. “He is hard on himself, but it is because he wants to be great at what he does. Jaden puts a lot of time into his craft, he takes his work as a quarterback very seriously, and he has a great work ethic.

“All he cares about is getting better.”

Rashada will have time to elevate his game now and prepare for a big senior season. It is something coach Galli is excited about.

“There has been so much pressure on Jaden, so him getting this over with, and having a decision, is great for him. He has been through a lot. From the decision to the time constraints to the pressure with the NIL being involved now, it has been a lot on him.

“He now can get back to being a kid and being a top quarterback. Jaden is about to be a high school senior and I am ready for him to be relaxed and be back as that joyful young man.”
