Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna three-star quarterback Cedrick Bailey Jr. has been committed to NC State since March 13. The Wolfpack offered in January and worked quick to land the 6-foot-6, 180-pounder’s pledge.

“They do a good job preparing quarterbacks for the next level and putting them in the league,” Bailey told On3 upon his commitment. “Guys like me, tall guy, black quarterback they do well getting them to the league. That’s what I like about NC State. They also have a connection. The coaches reach out to me a lot. That’s what I like in a college. Getting to talk to the coaches a lot.”

The likes of Florida State, Louisville and Pittsburgh had also offered ahead of his pledge, but Bailey took his official visit to Raleigh in June and has remained sturdy in his commitment. Another in-state ACC program officially entered the mix this weekend, however, as Bailey announced an offer from Miami on Sunday:

The connections are plentiful between Chaminade-Madonna and the Hurricanes. Mario Cristobal’s class includes two of Bailey’s teammates, four-star wide receiver Joshisa Trader and four-star safety Zaquan Patterson. Miami is also heavily trying to flip Chaminade’s Five-Star Plus+ WR Jeremiah Smith — the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle — from Ohio State.

Almost half of Miami’s class is comprised of Sunshine State products. Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas four-star WR commit Chance Robinson tossed in his pitch to Bailey on social media after the QB announced his new offer:

Bailey is the No. 517 overall prospect and No. 32 QB in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 63 player in Florida.

Bailey is one of NC State’s five highest-ranked commits in its 2024 class and was also one of the first prospects to pledge to Dave Doeren and Co. The Wolfpack’s class is No. 35 in the nation and No. 7 in the ACC, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

He does not currently have an On3 NIL Valuation. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
