Pascagoula (Miss.) four-star defensive lineman Jeffery Rush received an offer from Miami on Saturday. He announced the news over social media.

Rush is the No. 167 overall prospect and No. 15 defensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 4 player in Mississippi.

The 6-foot-3, 255-pound defender holds nine offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Auburn is leading for his commitment at 49.3%. He visited the Tigers for their Junior Day last month.

“Me and the defensive line coach (Jeremy Garrett) and the defensive coordinator (Ron Roberts) had a couple of minutes to talk to each other,” Rush told Cole Pinkston of Auburn Live on Jan. 31. “They’re both very good people. I like the way they run their defense and their plan for the future at Auburn.”

“I came up there for a game last year,” he added. “I like the upgrades they made, I like it a lot. All the new stuff that’s coming in, I know that Auburn has a better future ahead of it.”

In addition to seeing Auburn, Rush took two other visits in January. They were to Texas (Jan. 21) and Ole Miss (Jan. 29).
