On July 9, four-star EDGE Jayden Wayne of Tacoma (Wash.) Lincoln is announcing his commitment. The nation’s No. 36 overall prospect is deciding between Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan State and Oregon.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), the Hurricanes hold a major lead in the race to land him. The RPM lists Miami as the favorite for Wayne at 79.6 percent, with Alabama (10.2 percent), Oregon (2.8 percent) and Georgia (1.7 percent) following the Hurricanes.

Wayne has taken official visits to Miami, Oregon, LSU and Georgia. He visited Coral Gables on June 17.

“Coach Cristobal and me have a great relationship,” Wayne told On3’s Hayes Fawcett about why Miami made his top six. “They’re putting together something special there. The brotherhood is strong. I can learn from some NFL greats.”

Wayne is ranked as the No. 5 EDGE prospect according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also rated as the top player in Washington.

Recent Miami commitments include five-star offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa, four-star quarterback Jaden Rashada, four-star tight end Riley Williams and wide receiver Nathaniel Joseph.
