Michigan State safety Jaden Mangham hospitalized after being carted off vs. Ohio State
After being carted off the field late in the first quarter following a violent hit on TreVeyon Henderson, Michigan State safety Jaden Mangham has been taken by ambulance to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, ESPN’ Holly Rowe reported. The safety has an apparent head and/or neck injury.
Rowe noted that Mangham’s helmet had not been removed and the doctors and trainers were showing extreme caution in protecting the head and neck of the true freshman. He had been strapped down on a rigid board on the field — common for transporting people who have suffered head or spinal column injuries — prior to being carted off.
Rowe added that Mangham’s mother had come down from the stands and was joining him as he was taken away for further medical attention.

Mangham showed early positive signs amid a scary scene after his hit
Michigan State safety Jaden Mangham was carted off the field late in the first quarter after making a tackle on Ohio State’s TreVeyon Henderson. Mangham came across the field and hit Henderson violently, helmet-to-helmet, before crumpling to the turf.
He gave a thumbs up as he was driven off the field.
Almost immediately after the hit, trainers were attending to Mangham and the cart was quickly brought out. Trainers and doctors were seen transferring the true freshman to a rigid board for transporting.
ESPN’s Holly Rowe relayed that Mangham appeared to have movement in his extremities and legs as he was being attended too.
As the freshman was on the turf in front of the MSU sideline, his teammates came out and took a knee. Right before he was driven off the field, Henderson — the other party in the hit — came over and placed a hand on Mangham’s chest, appearing to say a word of encouragement.
