Detroit Lions defensive lineman and Michigan alumni Aidan Hutchinson made a recent appearance on the Dan Patrick show, and the two discussed the famous Michigan versus Ohio State rivalry. Patrick cut right to the chase, asking straight up if Hutchinson hated Ohio State.

“That’s an interesting question Dan, I certainly don’t like them, hatred? I don’t hate a whole lot of things, but I don’t like them at all and I never will, so call that what you want,” Hutchinson said.

Hutchinson’s answer hopefully passes the test for Wolverine fans and gets a good approval rating from them, as Patrick also asked if he had any friends who attended Ohio State or could potentially be friends with a Buckeye.

“I have no friends before the Lions on Ohio State, but now that I’m on the Lions there’s a couple Buckeyes in there, Buckeye grads,” Hutchinson said. “We don’t talk about it but it’s okay and that’s fine, I didn’t know them during their Ohio State days and now our paths have crossed so it will have to do and those are my teammates now.”

Patrick noted that Hutchinson is the only player on the Lions roster currently who attended Michigan and that he’s outnumbered three to one, as Buckeyes Jeff Okudah, Taylor Decker, and Jonah Jackson are on the team with him.

“It’s tough sledding, but you know come whenever they play them in November we’ll be putting some money down for sure,” Hutchinson said.

Patrick did mention that Hutchinson currently has bragging rights for the year, as he led the Michigan team that defeated the Buckeyes last season in their most recent matchup. But, the Wolverine’s latest win may not hold as much weight in the Detroit locker room, considering that Okudah, Decker, and Jackson all have never lost to the Wolverines during their college playing days.

“Forsure, but those guys in that locker room, they beat us when we were there those older guys, so they don’t feel my glory like I do but it’s all good,” Hutchinson said.

This year’s matchup, as always, will be one of the most watched rivalry games of college football’s last weekend of the regular season. And it sounds like Hutchinson and some of his new teammates will be watching even more closely with some high stakes on the line.
